Outlook 2013 edit existing email settings

Use the following step by step instruction to setup your email in outlook 2013

  1. Open Outlook and navigate to File >> info>>
  2. For a new account, Click Add Account else proceed to step 3
  3. Click on Account Settings drop down and click Account settings

  4. In the settings Dialog box, select your email address and click change
  5. In the Change Account dialog ensure that the following is true
    1. Your name appears in the “You Name” box.
    2. Your email is entered correctly in the “Email Address” box.
    3. Your incoming mail server is yourdomain.co.za
    4. Your Outgoing mail server (SMTP) is mail.yourdomain.co.za
    5. Your user name is the same as your Email Address above
    6. Enter your password
    7. Make sure that “Require login using secure password authentication” is NOT checked

  6. Click on “More Settings” button
  7. On the Outgoing Server tab, ensure to CHECK “My outgoing server requires authentication”

  8. On the Advanced tab the following are the settings
    1. Incoming server:
      Incoming Server: chs6.ampledns.com or mail.yourdomain.co.za

      • IMAP Port: 993
      • POP3 Port: 995
    2. SSL is checked
    3. Outgoing server (SMTP) :
      Outgoing Server: chs6.ampledns.com or mail.yourdomain.co.za

      • SMTP Port: 465
    4. Use the following type of encryption connection to SSLor TLS (Recommended)
      (Please if you are not logged in after these settings change this setting to NONE so that you can test better and use Ports 110 for POP3 and 25 for SMTP)

  9. Click OK to close this dialog
  10. Click next to test your settings
  11. And click finish if the test passed else revisit your settings.
  12. You should be good to go.
